Natural Gas Storage

EIA reports working gas in storage was 3052 bcf as of August 20, 2010 representing a net increase of 40 bcf from the previous week. Stocks are 198 bcf less than last year at this time and are 177 bcf above the 5-year average of 2875 bcf.

Canadian storage numbers showed western storage up 4.4 bcf to 327.1 and eastern storage was up 1.9 to 157.9 for the week ending July 23, 2010. In the West, Husky and Alberta Hub are no longer reporting storage statistics to CGA. This represents a reduction of 25% of reported Canadian capacity. The overall data is no longer representative of the overall Canadian storage market.
